The way the sunflowers sway their enormous heads to face the sun speaks about their spiritual attainment, flexibility and opportunity. They are also figurative of good luck, wealth and ambition. As the flower is linked to the sun it linked to the force of life giving by the Great Spirit. Due to its association with the Sun God it also means vitality, warmth, life, provision, light and pleasure. The sunflower can also be compared to the solar-plexus chakra (Manipura). This chakra (and its color) governs the intellect and is a central force of perception as well as self-awareness and personal evolution.

When we speak of sunflower the symbolism of water too will play a part along with it. This is because water can be found in the cells of the dappled side of the sunflower’s stem and pressure created by water forces the blooming head in a steady arc towards the direction of the sunlight. Due to this sunflower also carries the following meanings cool, calm, serene and tranquil.
